Installing Briggs and Stratton Commercial Generators
When Mashpee Schools contacted us to replace their 1970’s vintage emergency generator at Quashnet Elementary School, we saw this as an opportunity to introduce the Briggs and Stratton commercial line into our commercial/municipal offerings.
Equipment Replacement Project – Key Points:
- The existing equipment was indoors and the location of the new generator was to be outdoors
- The Automatic Transfer Switch was in the same 1970’s vintage condition and to be replaced
- An NFPA Remote Annunciator was to be added
- The gas service had to be upgraded to meet current NFPA 110 guidelines
- Generator installation and site work had to be completed before the beginning of the new school year which allowed us a 10-week window
With Briggs and Stratton’s commitment to a 4-week delivery, we knew that this was the right equipment for the job. In addition, the use of Deep Sea controls allowed us to easily meet the NFPA annunciator requirement. As a 45-year old mission critical generator company, one of the things we value the most is equipment reliability. Briggs and Stratton shares this value as indicated with the use of quality components such as GM/PSI engines, Mecc Alte alternators and non-proprietary Deep Sea Controls. Offering the Briggs and Stratton/ASCO 285 series switch gear also reassured the customer that this was a quality system. We proudly completed the installation and site work before the beginning of the school year and commissioned the generator a few weeks later.
We have been successfully installing the 35kW Briggs and Stratton units for wastewater lift stations; this was the first 80kW solution we installed using Briggs and Stratton. We recently installed another 80kW Briggs and Stratton unit for the Town of Seekonk, MA.
This success story is a testament to our values. At FM Generator, we sell quality equipment that manufacturers stand behind, we support, and have replacement parts readily available for. We’re On When the Power’s Off!
